Our Story
How Mèo Maison started:
It all started with the love for cats, aspire to be able save all animals from risk of euthanasia and a dream to become an entrepreneur. Our founder and CEO, Lauren Luu , brought up this idea to her business partner, (Cafe Con Bagel) stating “ Wouldn’t it be great to have a cat cafe next door?” From then on, Mèo Maison was created.
We were inspired by Wes Anderson’s film, The Grand Budapest Hotel. The colors and the style of the film really stuck to us and we wanted to use pastels to create the space to be a calming and welcoming environment for both the kittys and humans. 😸
We partnered up with Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and we house them here until they’re adopted!
How the name came about:
The name for the place was created by Lauren’s friend Georgia! She wanted to tie in Lauren’s background and that’s where mèo comes in. Mèo is cat in Vietnamese 😸 and Lauren is a Vietnamese American. Maison is house in French and wanted to capture the asethic and story of the place. The two MM looks like cats and when you flip them around its cat whiskers!
We have found over 50 forever homes for our rescued kitties and many more to come😸🏡
That’s just a little bit a bout us😸 Thanks for reading!
